The annual almanac Vtoraia Navigatsiia [Second Navigation] focuses on an analysis of the historical and socio-cultural trends in the development of contemporary European civilization.

The ninth issue of the almanac, published in Munich, includes articles analyzing the current spiritual situation. The first two sections are devoted to a study of various aspects of socio-cultural processes of European and Russian historical self-consciousness, the third to the hundredth anniversary of the collection Landmarks (Vekhi). The fourth contains thoughts on the acquisition of positive values in an age of the dominance of “cynical intellect.” The fifth section continues the discussion about the difficult situation of cultural creation in the conditions of contemporary civilization.
